“The Best Riad I’ve Stayed in in Marrakech” Karen, 20 October 2016
I have to confess to wanting to keep this place a secret, all for myself, but that would be unfair on Alexandra. As a frequent visitor to Marrakech I think that Bab Taghzout, where the Riad is situated, is one of the nicest areas in the Medina. The Riad is easily reached by taxi as it is only 50 metres from the gate at Bab Taghzout where taxis and cars from the airport can stop. The Riad is beautiful, absolutely beautiful. It's large as Riad's go and has been restored to a very high standard. The courtyard, the pool with Orange trees, the Salon, the staircase, the roof terrace and the rooms are all wonderful, filled with lovely furniture, art and photography. Perfectly chosen and put together. Alexandra is a lovely lady and the most attentive host I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and she has a lovely team to help her. From the moment you arrive you are looked after to a very high standard by everybody, . The attention to detail is really exceptional. The breakfasts that we ate at the Riad were perfect, the freshly prepared fruit salad, black tea, orange juice, yoghurts, fresh bread and fried eggs were exactly what we like to start the day. We didn't eat at the Riad in the evening but other guests who did told us the food was really nice too. Our room was only supposed to have been a standard one, but it was spacious, very clean and would easily have passed for more than just standard. The shower and bathroom had a good supply of hot water at all times which, in itself, is not always the case in Marrakech. In summary, after a long hot day in the medina you could not ask for a better place to go back to.

Alexandra, the owner, provided a personal service from the start - helpful, friendly and went out of her way to make our stay perfect in every way. The photos do not do justice to this lovely riad, which has been lovingly restored by it's wonderful host, Alexandra. Her impeccable taste is evident everywhere and in all the little details that make this accommodation five star. We were just sorry not to have been able to spend longer here. Breakfast was wonderful and Alexandra gave us invaluable tips for what to see and do in Marrakesh. The array of accommodation on offer in Marrakesh can be confusing for travellers booking online - all we can say is that anyone choosing Riad Emberiza Sahari will not be disappointed and will have a wonderful stay. Room Tip: All rooms in this riad are wonderful! See more room tips Stayed October 2015, travelled with friends 5 of 5 stars Rooms 5 of 5 stars Cleanliness 5 of 5 stars Service
Perfect Oasis in the Medina
Riad Emberiza Sahari is the perfect place to base yourself as you explore Marrakech. This Riad is heavenly. The rooms are superbly designed, blending the owner's eclectic cosmopolitan chic with all that is best of Moroccan art. The beds are comfortable and the food is delish. Fatimah, the Riad's chef is one of the best-kept secrets in Marrackech. We stayed here in the heat of July and returning to the Riad after a day exploring the Souq and slipping into the exquisite dipping pool in the peaceful courtyard was heavenly. This Riad is a super find and I can't recommend it highly enough. If you are looking for an elegant, peaceful retreat in the heart of the bustling Medina, you can't do better than this. 5 out of 5 stars.
“Amazing – we could not recommend enough!”
“Amazing - we could not recommend enough!” 5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 22016 Our stay was absolutely flawless - Alexandra was such a welcoming and gracious host, her staff were so pleasant, friendly and helpful. The Riad itself was stunning, decor was exquisite - we really couldn't have asked for more and absolutely recommend a stay here! Upon arriving in Marrakech we were collected by a driver who drove us to the Riad (pre-organised by Alexandra on our behalf, this made the transit extremely easy, which after our very early flight we very much appreciated!). When arriving at the Riad - which was absolutely stunning, the pool and courtyard is really something else, a total paradise, luscious greenery, fountains and turtles! - we were welcomed with moroccan tea and treats and were talked through our stay by Alexandra who provided recommendations, booked our activities, and informed us of the history of the Medina. We were also delighted to have been upgraded. The room like the rest of the Riad was beautiful - whilst there was no aircon this wasn't a problem despite being the height of summer. We used a fan during the night and during the day the staff would open and close our doors depending on when best to keep the room cool. Our stay was so peaceful - we really got the rest we had been looking for! Aside from the beautiful courtyard, which was great for both keeping relaxing as well as tanning on the sun loungers, there is also separate seating areas such as the lounge and upstairs terrace. The food and drink available at the Riad was wonderful - whilst we only stayed two nights so did not have dinner there, the breakfasts were always delicious (and served right next to the pool - so lovely), and we were always so pleased with the quality of wine and tea. Attention to detail at this Riad is very prominent - and most appreciated! The Riad was extremely central, easy to get to, with great access to the Medina on foot or using the taxis which would park in the carpark close-by. If there was ever a request or question the staff were always there to answer. We will most definitely be recommending to our friends, and have only joined trip advisor to write this review as we were so pleased with our stay! - we wish we had stayed for longer
